The small, firm eggs from the Capelin fish (a fish from the smelt family, found in the cold Artic waters) is also known as Masago in Japan, is usually found topping sushi rolls.
The capelin fish roe in sauce has a great, fresh and mildly salty taste. Perfect as a starter or a light snack on a piece of bread or a toast.
